Witchers are mutants, men subjected to gruelling training and flesh-altering experiments that prepare them for one purpose: to kill monsters. Geralt was forged at the elite School of the Wolf and is considered one of the deadliest witchers ever trained. He possesses superhuman reflexes and strength, and his sword fighting skills are second to none.
Created in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED, here is Geralt's Steel Sword from the universe of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, an award winning action role-playing game. While steel swords are traditionally made from either meteoric or magnetite iron, this official replica is made of safe Calimacil foam. Crafted and designed from original in-game assets, it is soft enough to ensure safe usage in mock combat, but firm enough for Cosplay and prop usage.
In the open world of Wild Hunt, you chart your own path to adventure. You play as a bounty hunter, a man of the road. You set your own goals and choose your own destinations. Go after the bounty on the head of a nasty monster pestering a village or help a scheming noble who needs a dirty job done — no matter what style of epic questing you crave, The Witcher will provide it. Now you can also wield our steel sword foam replica and train your sword-fighting techniques to match those of Geralt.

Looks and feels even more sturdier than I thought at first will probably last long and can't wait to take it to my first larp!
I wanted a high-quality, realistic-looking, & non-lethal sword I could safely carry around people, friends, & family at home or in public; one that best resembles an Oakeshott type XVa or XVIIIb but with a scent-stopper shaped pommel for better offhand control. It just so happened this Witcher 3 model fit my list of needs. I've never played any of the Witcher games but this sword, albeit made of foam, is amazing.
For reference: I'm 5'4" with smaller-than-average size hands. I've been practicing HEMA & "longsword aerobics" almost daily with this sword since it's arrival April 8th 2020. This sword is a great fit for me. I hope someday Calimacil makes a sword with very similar design/detail that’s not franchise themed. Perhaps with a weighted handle or pommel for better balance. Together with the scabbard was a little over $300 with shipping. No regrets.
It came far sooner than expected and once I unboxed it, it was difficult to tell it wasn't metal at first glance. I love its weight and attention to detail, and I can't wait to start exploring LARP groups welding it!
I have bought and used quite a few calamacil products the past few years and this is by far the best I’ve had the pleasure to use and purchase. It’s super light, solid, looks great, and can take some abuse as well I would recommend it to anyone looking for a weapon.
Where to start! This sword has to be both the most realistically designed and shaped sword in the store. The blade is incredibly thin for a LARP weapon, yet it loses none of the safety one can expect from a foam weapon, and retains Calimacil's famed durability. The handle is ergonomic and very comfortable; especially with the wire wrap providing a benefit to grip strength. It looks good, feels good, and can take a real beating.
However, there is one particular issue worth making note of. The paint on the wire wrap didn't seem to set well, and a significant bit of it has faded. The blade, likewise, doesn't hold paint very well over a prolonged period of use, especially at the tip. This is not a deal breaker, as the majority of the weapon still looks good from a distance, but it can detract when observed up close.
Despite the flaws, this thing is absolutely worth getting. It's design is basic enough to fit any character using a longsword, and it feels good enough in the hand, bare of gloved, that it'll be a joy to use every time!
