Calimacil partners with the Duchy of Bicolline
Be! Every year, this slogan is what it’s all about for seven days in mid-August during the Great Battle of Bicolline. A solid pillar of medieval immersion, the Duchy of Bicolline promises grand festivities for its 25th Anniversary in 2022. After two fallow years, its soil will flourish with banners and standards once more. For the very first time, Calimacil has partnered with Bicolline to create stunning items worthy of this grand celebration, longer awaited than ever before, for which spectacles, quests and adventure are being made ready to go BOOM!
Wage war alongside loyal friends or discover their true allegiance on the battlefield; pretenders and miscreants tend to slip away from the ranks of the brave when the time comes to protect the Duchess! Put your military tactics to the test in small skirmishes and in large battles. Soldiers, pikemen, close the ranks to protect your war machines against monsters and enemy forces. Watch out for archers! A precise shot to the leg and you will be crippled. Luckily, you’ll have a full week to prepare for that day of battle that will take your breath away… Use it well by obtaining healing powers through contests, challenges and negotiations via the geopolitical game that takes place in parallel to the festivities.
A sport, a game, an action-packed theatrical play
Whether you are nobles most elegantly dressed, warriors armed to the teeth or humble peasants taking in the grandeur, the Duchy of Bicolline welcomes one and all. Many an evening can be spent dancing around bonfires to the wild rhythms of musicians, mead flowing as freely as the stories that will keep you enthralled until the late hours at which howl werewolves and beasts of legends!
How much does it cost to attend the Great Battle?
It will cost you as little as a day of paintball or a short camping trip. But what an experience! Leave reality behind for a magical medieval universe that will make you forget all about daily life, spending moments you will feel all the way to your core with friends. We bet that come Monday morning, you will still be in that universe, wondering why an alarm still dictates your day.

With 220 historically inspired constructions built on 143 acres of landscaped space and a passionate team helping immerse travelers, Bicolline is among the most beautiful LARPing sites in the world. As 3500 recurring participants bear witness, the expansive medieval fantasy atmosphere is worthy of vivas and huzzahs! Beyond battles the likes of which we might compare to William Wallace’s in Braveheart, embark in the geopolitical game not unlike that of Game of Thrones which has molded every campaign and war for the past quarter of a century. Feast and drink until you burst at the festive banquets led by one of the many factions vying for your allegiance; perhaps you’ll even rise in seignorial power. Live the character of your making as fully as you desire or simply play as yourself in another era for a week that is best spent with friends, old and new. Nothing easier than to let yourself go with the festive medieval flow amidst thousands of like-minded visitors.
The Voyage North
Every year, a contingent of our European compatriotes undertake the crossing of the Atlantic while many American neighbors travel North for the same irreplaçable experience. The Voyage North portal is dedicated to those expeditions so that be it by drakkar, by dragon or by horse-drawn carriage, all arrive safe and sound. Seasoned travelers and fresh faces alike, three cheers for all who brave the distance and join in the adventure!
The Guilds
One of the features at Bicolline is the Guilds system through which players can negotiate for resources in the geopolitical game. Your gang, your team, the group you belong to is your guild. Choose wisely though, as each guild has its own objectives, allegiances and alignment that span to every end of the spectrum. Are you fiercely loyal to the laws of the land or are you more chaotic, perhaps with questionable intentions?
An influential player
Throughout its history, Bicolline has also influenced LARP organisations through its thorough set of combat safety rules as well as its insatiable quest for decorum. The inn itself, with its beams joined with tenons and mortises, provides an example of unique architecture inspired by historical constructions.

Benefiting from Bicolline’s founder Olivier Renard’s vision and from Calimacil’s artisans’ expertise, they are up to the standards of the most fervent warrior and the most distinguished of nobles.
Local solidarity, quality brands
In order to celebrate this grandiose event taking place here in Quebec, several of the most influential local artisans have come together to create a masterpiece. After all, as the reputable character that you are, it is nigh unthinkable that you might walk about with sword in hand throughout the festivities! Our set of blades would be incomplete were they not enhanced by stunning sheaths and a matching belt. Designed and made with care by masterful leather workshops Dracolite and Artisans d’Azure, Calimacil also aided by providing the final details.
The efforts deployed were unparalleled for the Duchy of Bicolline’s 25th Great Battle with this partnership that will go down in history. By joining their know-how with Bicolline, Calimacil, Les Artisans d’Azure and Dracolite deployed over 20 000$ over the course of two years to develop this magnificent collector set. This artistic creation led by Olivier Renard bears as emblem the authentic figurehead: the seahorse!
