Created in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED from original in-game assets, here is Geralt's Steel Sword Scabbard from the universe of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, an award winning action role-playing video game. Designed exclusively for the Geralt's Steel Sword foam replica, this scabbard is a perfect fit for its thin blade and its unique handle design. The fit is so perfect, this scabbard cannot be used to carry any other Calimacil sword. It can be worn on a belt or it can be attached to a strap to be worn on the back.
We've teamed up with Les Artisans d'Azure to create this highly detailed and very functional scabbard. They made the leather parts and straps while the Calimacil team created inserts for both tips of the scabbard with hard Calimacil plastic. The result is a true masterpiece of leather working with very durable and realistic inserts on both ends.

From CD PROJEKT RED critically acclaimed action role-playing game, The Witcher III, Wild Hunt, our official replicas are crafted and designed from original in-game assets. Made of safe foam, they are soft enough to ensure a safe usage in mock combat, but firm enough for cosplay and prop usage.
Now you can also wield our steel sword foam replica and train your sword-fighting techniques to match those of Geralt.
I love the scabbard. It suits the sword so well. I can not wait for the silver sword to get its scabbard!
Beautifully made and a really nice fit for the sword.
Hoping for a scabbard for the silver sword also.
This scabbard has raised the bar for LARP accessories. Any other available scabbards that are functional for LARP weapons are nigh universally bland in design, purely functional, and usually not very pretty, on top of being remarkably rare, due to the difficulties of making a scabbard that doesn't risk damaging the weapon it's meant to hold; and to this day, frogs are still overwhelmingly more popular. The fact Calimacil and Les Artisans d'Azure were able to make this look good And be safe to use without damaging the blade at all makes me hopeful to see similarly made sword scabbards for other blade types in the near future (especially for the regular blade shapes Calimacil tends to use).
For people who own Geralt's Steel Sword already, get this scabbard; it's a Must Have. For those who have not yet gotten the sword, get the sword & scabbard as a set. These items complete each other, and you will not be disappointed. When the silver sword scabbard releases, I will most definitely be getting that as well.
Being such a fan of Geralt's Steel Sword (Which I previously reviewed), I knew I had to get the scabbard for it. I was pleasently surprised when it arrived and I saw just how fantastic the work on it truly is.
The detail work on the leather is something to behold, which pictures can't quite do justice. The fit to the Calimacil plastic end pieces is exceptional, which lends to it's perfect fit to the sword itself. The additional leather straps for detail and to attach to your belt are well made and hold their own lovely bit of leather work while being relatively unadorned. When mounted to my belt properly, the sword hung exactly where it should with little wobble.
Speaking more on the Calimacil plastic bits, the weathering adds such a wonderful touch. Little scratches and knicks add detail and age to the timeless work. I also have to speak to the fit to the sword here, being a very tight fit without scratching or tearing the foam.
I can't give it all praise however. Being a bespoke item, there are minor imperfections to be aware of, notably for mine being the back strap of leather not fitting flush to the end cap, though I hardly mind. Just something to be aware of if you order, this is a hand crafted item, so expect minor things like this.
To say I recommend this scabbard is an understatement to the highest degree. If you love the Steel Sword like I do, show it you care and get this scabbard!
I love this scabbard for my Geralt Steel sword - leather work IS fantastic and overall look is so cool, however, I think if they lined the inside to the scabbard with synthetic fur it would protect the sword finish better. Inside the scabbard is the rough side of the leather and so has already started scratching the finish on my sword - I have already noticed small scuff marks on raised parts of the blade of my Geralt steel sword after only a couple of times of normal unsheathing. Nervous to see how things will potentially look long term on the sword's blade surface. At this price point, it would have been better to put a soft liner inside the scabbard to protect the quality of the foam Geralt Steel Sword (which costs almost as much as this scabbard). Just my two cents. thank you!
