Magnus had made the right decision. The enemy had sent their lightly protected troops ahead of the soldiers in full armor. These troops marched directly into the trap that Magnus had named the "crow's cage", where they found themselves facing a wall of shields formed in a half circle that made their charging formation ineffective.

Before the soldiers in full armor could arrive to protect them the lightly armored troops were ambushed from both sides by special units equipped with Becs de Corbin. This formidable weapon was specifically designed to penetrate metal; their light armor was no match for this formidable weapon. Magnus’ cavalry unit then came in behind the enemy and ended the battle.
