This historical battle took place on October 14, 1066 between Harold II of England and William, Duke of Normandy. William invaded England leading 7000 soldiers and confronted the army of Harold who just returned from a battle against Norwegians. The troops of Guillaume, better rested and equipped, triumphed during the battle. Harold perished in this combat. The crowning of Guillaume marked the last successful invasion of the history of England. This invasion marked the end of the Viking era.
