Good swing, bad hit Review by Paul
I like to breakdown my reviews in sections...
Appearance (9 out of 10): It's a gorgeous looking weapon with a great color scheme. The details on the pommel, crossguard, & hilt are wonderfully in-depth & can be missed if you are not careful. The blade's shape & design is pleasing, simple, & elegant. Aesthetically, a great looking weapons.
Material (7 out of 10): Calimacil doesn't skimp on materials, & the foam, latex, & plastics within & covering the weapon are very durable. I re-painted over the crossguard, hilt, & pommel of my weapon with a color sharpie marker & it took very well. So if you want to differentiate your sword from a friend who has the same model, you can do it easily. The 1 thing I don't like his the foam material in the blade edge can become really dense & when you swing the weapon, there isn't enough give or "squish" upon impact. Results in a rather "harder than boffer/nerf" force of a blow. You do have to be careful when swinging the weapon.
Design/Construction (8 out of 10): for all the fancy designs, the weapon is a double-edged, near cruciform sword design. It's efficient, well balanced for the most part ( it is a little blade heavy), & can take a hit & block a hit pretty well. With proper maintenance & care, the weapon will look & feel like new for a long time.
Overall (8 out of 10): it's a great piece & worth the price of investment if you are looking for a fancy sword for your game/character. Just make sure you treat it right constantly. (Posted on 7/14/11) -

AThis sword is made with some of the best materials available for 3rd generation foam weapons. I use this sword every week in LARP at wilarp.com and you can see it being used in many of my videos. This is not a cheap weapon and the price will limit the amount of people buying it, but seeing all the other swords out there (and we do have more reviews) this gets a 4.7 out of 5 rating in quality.
